ובשנת תמני עסרי למלך ירבעם בר נבט מלך אבים על דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth el abym mlk nbT br yrbem lmlk esry thmny wbshnth
Now in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam began to reign over Judah.

תלת שנין מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה מעכה בת אבישלום:
abyshlwm bth mekh amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk shnyn thlth
He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.

ואזל בכל חובי אבוהי דעבד קדמוהי ולא הוה לביה שלים בדחלתיה דיי אלהיה כלביה דדוד אבוהי:
abwhy ddwd klbyh alhyh dyy bdkhlthyh shlym lbyh hwh wla qdmwhy debd abwhy khwby bkl wazl
He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father.

ארי בדיל דוד יהב יי אלהיה ליה מלכו בירושלם לאקמא ית בריה תחותוהי ולקימא ית ירושלם:
yrwshlm yth wlqyma thkhwthwhy bryh yth laqma byrwshlm mlkw lyh alhyh yy yhb dwd bdyl ary
Nevertheless for David’s sake, Yahweh his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem;

דעבד דוד ית דכשר קדם יי ולא סטא מכל דפקדיה כל יומי חיוהי לחוד בפתגמא דאוריה חתאה:
khthah dawryh bpthgma lkhwd khywhy ywmy kl dpqdyh mkl sTa wla yy qdm dkshr yth dwd debd
because David did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and didn’t turn away from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

וקרבא הות בין רחבעם ובין ירבעם כל יומי חיוהי:
khywhy ywmy kl yrbem wbyn rkhbem byn hwth wqrba
Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

ושאר פתגמי אבים וכל דעבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי דבית יהודה וקרבא הות בין אבים ובין ירבעם:
yrbem wbyn abym byn hwth wqrba yhwdh dbyth lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla debd wkl abym pthgmy wshar
The rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

ושכיב אבים עם אבהתוהי וקברו יתיה בקרתא דדוד ומלך אסא בריה תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy bryh asa wmlk ddwd bqrtha ythyh wqbrw abhthwhy em abym wshkyb
Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Asa his son reigned in his place.

ובשנת עסרין לירבעם מלכא דישראל מלך אסא על שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa el asa mlk dyshral mlka lyrbem esryn wbshnth
In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah.

וארבעין וחדא שנין מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה מעכה בת אבישלום:
abyshlwm bth mekh amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk shnyn wkhda warbeyn
He reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.

ועבד אסא דכשר קדם יי כדוד אבוהי:
abwhy kdwd yy qdm dkshr asa webd
Asa did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, as David his father did.

ופלי נפקת ברא מן ארעא ואעדי ית כל טעותא דעבדו אבהתוהי:
abhthwhy debdw Tewtha kl yth waedy area mn bra npqth wply
He put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13
ואף ית מעכה אמיה אעדה ממלכותה דעבדת טעותא לאשרתא וקץ אסא ית טעותא ואוקיד בנחלא דקדרון:
dqdrwn bnkhla wawqyd Tewtha yth asa wqts lashrtha Tewtha debdth mmlkwthh aedh amyh mekh yth wap
He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah. Asa cut down her image and burned it at the brook Kidron.

ובמתא לא עטרא לחוד לבא דאסא הוה שלים בדחלתיה דיי כל יומוהי:
ywmwhy kl dyy bdkhlthyh shlym hwh dasa lba lkhwd eTra la wbmtha
But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Yahweh all his days.

ואיתי ית קודשי אבוהי וקודשוהי לבית מקדשא דיי כספא ודהבא ומניא:
wmnya wdhba kspa dyy mqdsha lbyth wqwdshwhy abwhy qwdshy yth waythy
He brought into Yahweh’s house the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that he himself had dedicated: silver, gold, and utensils.

וקרבא הות בין אסא ובין בעשא מלכא דישראל כל יומיהון:
ywmyhwn kl dyshral mlka besha wbyn asa byn hwth wqrba
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17
וסליק בעשא מלכא דישראל על דבית יהודה ובנא ית רמתא בדיל דלא למשבק למתן נפיק ועליל לאסא מלכא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth mlka lasa welyl npyq lmthn lmshbq dla bdyl rmtha yth wbna yhwdh dbyth el dyshral mlka besha wslyq
Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

ונסיב אסא ית כל כספא ודהבא דאשתארו באוצרות בית מקדשא דיי וית אוצרי בית מלכא ומנינון בידא דעבדוהי ושדרינון מלכא אסא לות בר הדד בר טברימון בר חזיון מלכא דארם דיתיב בדמשק למימר:
lmymr bdmshq dythyb darm mlka khzywn br Tbrymwn br hdd br lwth asa mlka wshdrynwn debdwhy byda wmnynwn mlka byth awtsry wyth dyy mqdsha byth bawtsrwth dashtharw wdhba kspa kl yth asa wnsyb
Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered it into the hand of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

קים ביני ובינך ובין אבא ובין אבוך הא שדרית לך שוחדא כספא ודהבא אזיל אשני ית קימך עם בעשא מלכא דישראל ויסתלק מני:
mny wysthlq dyshral mlka besha em qymk yth ashny azyl wdhba kspa shwkhda lk shdryth ha abwk wbyn aba wbyn wbynk byny qym
“Let there be a treaty between me and you, like that between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”

וקבל בר הדד מן מלכא אסא ושדר ית רבני חילותא דיליה על קרוי ישראל ומחא ית עיון וית דן וית אבל בית מעכה וית כל גינוסר על כל ארע שבטא דבית נפתלי:
npthly dbyth shbTa are kl el gynwsr kl wyth mekh byth abl wyth dn wyth eywn yth wmkha yshral qrwy el dylyh khylwtha rbny yth wshdr asa mlka mn hdd br wqbl
Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Beth Maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

והוה כד שמע בעשא ואתמנע מלמבני ית רמתא ויתב בתרעיתא:
bthreytha wythb rmtha yth mlmbny wathmne besha shme kd whwh
When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and lived in Tirzah.
22
ומלכא אסא כנש ית כל דבית יהודה לית דנקי ונטל ית אבני רמתא וית אעהא די בנא בעשא ובנא בהון מלכא אסא ית גבעתא דבני בנימן וית מצפיא:
mtspya wyth bnymn dbny gbetha yth asa mlka bhwn wbna besha bna dy aeha wyth rmtha abny yth wnTl dnqy lyth yhwdh dbyth kl yth knsh asa wmlka
Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah. No one was exempted. They carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and King Asa used it to build Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

ושאר כל פתגמי אסא וכל גבורתיה וכל די עבד וקירויא די בנא הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכא דבית יהודה לחוד לעדן סיבתיה אתמרע ברגלוהי:
brglwhy athmre sybthyh ledn lkhwd yhwdh dbyth lmlka ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla bna dy wqyrwya ebd dy wkl gbwrthyh wkl asa pthgmy kl wshar
Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24
ושכיב אסא עם אבהתוהי ואתקבר עם אבהתוהי בקרתא דדוד אבוהי ומלך יהושפט בריה תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy bryh yhwshpT wmlk abwhy ddwd bqrtha abhthwhy em wathqbr abhthwhy em asa wshkyb
Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.
25
ונדב בר ירבעם מלך על ישראל בשנת תרתין לאסא מלכא דשבטא דבית יהודה ומלך על ישראל תרתין שנין:
shnyn thrthyn yshral el wmlk yhwdh dbyth dshbTa mlka lasa thrthyn bshnth yshral el mlk yrbem br wndb
Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
26
ועבד דביש קדם יי ואזל באורח אבוהי ובחוביה דחיב ית ישראל:
yshral yth dkhyb wbkhwbyh abwhy bawrkh wazl yy qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
27
ומרד עלוהי בעשא בר אחיה משבטא דבית יששכר ומחהי בעשא בגבתון די לפלשתאי ונדב וכל ישראל צירין על גבתון:
gbthwn el tsyryn yshral wkl wndb lplshthay dy bgbthwn besha wmkhhy yshshkr dbyth mshbTa akhyh br besha elwhy wmrd
Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.

וקטליה בעשא בשנת תלת לאסא מלכא דשבטא דבית יהודה ומלך תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy wmlk yhwdh dbyth dshbTa mlka lasa thlth bshnth besha wqTlyh
Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha killed him and reigned in his place.

והוה כממלכיה קטל ית בית ירבעם לא אשאר כל נשמא לירבעם עד די שיציה כפתגמא דיי דמליל ביד עבדיה אחיה שילונאה:
shylwnah akhyh ebdyh byd dmlyl dyy kpthgma shytsyh dy ed lyrbem nshma kl ashar la yrbem byth yth qTl kmmlkyh whwh
As soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam. He didn’t leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him, according to the saying of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite;

על חובי ירבעם דחב ודחיב ית ישראל בארגזיותיה דארגיז קדם יי אלהא דישראל:
dyshral alha yy qdm dargyz bargzywthyh yshral yth wdkhyb dkhb yrbem khwby el
for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger.
31
ושאר פתגמי נדב וכל די עבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla ebd dy wkl ndb pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
32
וקרבא הות בין אסא ובין בעשא מלכא דישראל כל יומיהון:
ywmyhwn kl dyshral mlka besha wbyn asa byn hwth wqrba
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
33
בשנת תלת לאסא מלך שבטא דבית יהודה מלך בעשא בר אחיה על כל ישראל בתרצה עסרין וארבע שנין:
shnyn warbe esryn bthrtsh yshral kl el akhyh br besha mlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk lasa thlth bshnth
In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah for twenty-four years.
